Affectivity Collapse Derealized Muffle
Definition
Depersonalization-derealization: emotion still occurs but arrives muffled, unreal, sensed at a distance behind glass, with receptive contact sealed off rather than absent. Distinct from cold-knowing (no callous trait; the person grieves the muffling), helper-shutdown and compassion-burnout (no caregiving-depletion history; the sealing is dissociative not exhaustive), and flat-affect (feeling is preserved but derealized, not blunted at source — the hallmark is the felt unreality, not flatness).
