Affectivity Withdrawal Experiential Avoidance

cascade-variant.affectivity-withdrawal-experiential-avoidanceclinical register

Definition

Experiential avoidance as transdiagnostic process — chronic unwillingness to remain in receptive contact with private affective experience, maintained by negative reinforcement, while the emotional field itself stays near setpoint. Differs from Intake Closure by dispositional learning-history basis rather than occupational-load protection, by interoceptive-first topology (OP strongest — bodily feeling is avoided first) with a VE expressive-suppression limb rather than an attentional FE limb, and by reversal through willingness-based graded contact rather than load removal and reserve restoration.
