cascade-variant
Articulation Spin Content Poverty
Definition
Output quantity or pressure runs above range while the ideas the output carries stay sparse, repetitive, or poorly organized — both observations required in the same presentation. In the overproductive form the speech expands without adding information, and invitations to elaborate only produce more low-yield output. In the register form the surface is calm and well-formed rather than pressured: a ritualized politeness register runs on social script while the speaker's own content is absent or inaccessible, and only the hollow extreme reads as disharmony — the register in ordinary use is ordinary code-switching doing protective work, and pressing for authenticity in an unsafe setting only reinforces it. Distinct from the sibling variants, where the Mental thinness has a specific mechanism — failed reality monitoring, word-retrieval failure, individually rehearsed substitution, or unrealized doctrine — rather than content being withheld behind an intact shared surface.
