Attunement Freeze Rigid Stillness

cascade-variant.attunement-freeze-rigid-stillnessclinical register

Definition

The brainstem defensive freeze at the instant of overwhelm: affect floods while the body locks rigid and cannot move or cry out. Unlike Vulnerability-Lock's trait biosocial dysregulation or Trigger-Blank's delayed reactivation of a stored memory, this is the in-the-moment overwhelm response itself — involuntary motor inhibition under inescapable threat, self-terminating as the threat passes.
