Embrace Collapse Comfort Deadening
Definition
A possible severe depressive or melancholic presentation with marked anhedonia and low positive reactivity, selected here only when both feeling and the capacity to hold or receive comfort are broadly below range. The cited literature supports reduced reward and emotional responsiveness, not an abolished soothing capacity or mood-state extinction. Comfort may register weakly rather than not at all, and other depressive, attachment, or grief processes can coexist.
