Embrace Spin Role Reversal

Definition

Caregiving runs overactive while access to one's own feeling thins beneath it — the tending is compulsory rather than chosen, and it crowds out the affect it is standing in for. In the role-reversal form the pattern was assigned early: a caregiving role given rather than taken, providing purpose and contact while displacing self-directed expression. In the anxious-attachment form the engine is fear rather than habit — the caregiving is a protest strategy holding a bond whose availability registers as uncertain, so stopping it without addressing the fear strips a protective function and the panic surfaces underneath. Distinct from Family Enmeshment by the locus being the individual rather than the system, and from ordinary care or parentification that remains chosen and emotionally available.
