cascade-variant
Inspiration Freeze Sacred Numbing
Definition
Religious or spiritual abuse can make sacred material function as a trauma cue while the person remains surrounded by charged religious language, rituals, or expectations. The variant applies only when that sacred significance is above range and receptivity has narrowed; trauma history, religious participation, or leaving a tradition alone does not establish O-/S+. Its distinguishing feature is trauma-linked closure within a still-intense sacred field, not a diagnosis of dissociation or a required exit from community.
