Sensitivity Freeze Frozen Still
Definition
Body-signal is at full volume while the receptive capacity locks shut against it, and the system holds still rather than fighting, fleeing, or collapsing. In full tonic immobility sympathetic and parasympathetic drive co-activate — maximally alarmed and maximally braking at once — producing paralysis. In the earlier arrest stage the same lock has engaged before mobilization: scanning has halted in heightened alertness and the defense sequence has not carried through to its next step, so the hold is lighter and persists past the triggering event as an interrupted cascade rather than a completed one. Distinct from dorsal-vagal shutdown by the co-activation signature and from panic depersonalization by derealization not being what leads.
