Sensitivity Saturation Heart Pounding

Definition

Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) — autonomic dysregulation with sympathetic overactivation on standing. Distinguished from panic (Catastrophe Spiral) by orthostatic-triggered rather than cognitive-trigger profile, from HSP-interoceptive overload by autonomic-medical etiology, and from generalized somatic-anxiety by reproducible postural-tachycardia diagnostic signature; presents as somatic flood when not yet identified or in symptom-focused phase before it is clinically identified. Distinct from the flood-side reading of the same syndrome (Autonomic Dysregulation) by intact filtering: the load is genuinely high but reception stays at setpoint rather than running wide.
