Acuity Flood

Definition

Focus and Mental are both over-active at Acuity: attention holds too tightly while thought runs above a usable volume, so each keeps the other going. Where it reaches further it can draw in the other ways of working with thought, extend along attention's own reach into feeling, the body, or other people, or do both at once — as a profile that is present rather than a spread the origin requires, and without recruiting every capacity that happens to be available. The presentations differ in kind and in what relieves them: racing thought carried on excitement, sustained and aversive worry, and a disorganized storm with motor discharge are not one pattern. The over/over origin alone does not establish a self-sustaining worry loop or a fixed order of settling.
