Acuity Freeze

Definition

Focus is under-active while Mental is over-active at Acuity: thought runs above a usable volume while attention has difficulty settling on it long enough to organize it, so the material keeps turning without resolving. Where it reaches further, the other ways of working with thought can lock around the loud content while attention thins in the places it would otherwise reach — most often the body, sometimes feeling or other people. Those are profiles that can be present, not a propagation the origin requires. The presentations differ in kind — intrusive overload, a pull toward heavy self-referential material, dissociative drift, and plain cognitive overwhelm — and the order in which things settle follows which one is present rather than the mixed origin itself.
