Depleting
Definition
Depleting carries Spiritual from Filled toward Empty when sacred, ultimate participation becomes absent, cut off, unable to matter, or excluded by the lived frame within the bearer’s wider functioning. The lived sacred, transcendent, ultimately meaningful, or greater-than-isolated-ego dimension recedes until it no longer participates in the scoped facet. A valence flip in which the frame keeps governing — devotion turning to organized opposition — is not Depleting; Spiritual remains on the Over side and the change requires its own evidence. Depleting is not spiritual quiet, a fallow period, naturalistic interpretation, nonreligious language, doctrinal revision, or lack of emotional awe. The departure concerns sacred participation itself and does not judge the truth, morality, or source of what is lost or rejected. The end of a particular sacred contact, foreground, bond, or enactment does not by itself establish Depleting while sacred participation remains present in another form at the declared scope. Depleting requires sacred participation itself to become Empty.
