Definition

Tempering carries Spiritual from Consumed toward Filled as the governing ultimate frame stops governing the wider field and sacred, ultimate participation becomes integrated with the bearer’s other functioning. Participation remains present while choice, direction, discernment, revision, and refusal become available; intensity need not decrease. For a Consumed frame held in opposition, Tempering completes at Filled only where integrated ultimate participation remains once the takeover recedes; where the receding frame leaves the dimension excluded instead, the return reveals Under, Empty, per the reassessment field. Tempering does not extinguish spirit or reduce devotion to indifference. Dogma, mission, ecstasy, and possession can be multicoordinate configurations whose structure depends on the exact Spiritual departure and any other simultaneously active capacity or domain states. Loosening a sacred fixation is Releasing, restoring a necessary distinction in sacred connection is Differentiating, and restoring stop-control in sacred enactment is Modulating; Tempering applies only when Spiritual itself returns from Consumed toward Filled.
