Emotional Severing

Definition

A trap where what little feeling registers is not claimed as one's own and the unclaimed field goes quiet — unowned affect stops announcing itself, and the resulting emptiness passes for proof there was nothing left to own. Severed ownership empties the very field whose emptiness justifies the severing.
