Articulation Freeze Threat Inhibition
Definition
Threat-crowded output inhibition: during a feared act of speaking or writing, excessive prediction, rehearsal, and self-monitoring are independently active while communication or decision remains markedly reduced. The high Mental load is not inferred from a single complete thought or from silence itself. Requiring both the crowded cognitive process and the weak outlet preserves V-under/M-over without relabeling selective mutism, cultural silence, aphonia, stuttering, thought blocking, or contemplative reticence as the cascade.
