Identification Depletion Foreclosure Hollow
Definition
Foreclosed-identity hollowness: a self committed wholesale to one role without exploration (Marcia's foreclosure), so when that role exits — retirement, post-caregiving, empty-nest — the holding capacity finds no explored self beneath it and thins to vacancy. Distinct from the quiescent-thin sibling: a developmental-identity collapse at role-loss, not a personality-disorder remission state.
