Definition

Gathering carries Focus from Diffusing toward Directing as absent or dispersed direction organizes around the scoped target into a coherent, directable foreground. Attention becomes able to face, follow, or sustain that target while remaining able to widen, shift, or release. Gathering does not require a tiny point or conceptual clarity. Sleep, safety, reduced task complexity, or bodily movement may enable the transition without being the path itself.
