Scattering
Definition
Scattering carries Focus from Directing toward Diffusing when a coherent, directable foreground disperses until the scoped target can no longer be held. Direction loses enough organization or continuity that the target no longer occupies a workable foreground. Chosen widening, release, rest, peripheral awareness, or movement among several targets does not establish Scattering while coherent direction remains available at the declared scope. When the scoped target itself loses its former workable foreground, the transition can be Scattering even when it is chosen or contextually fitting. The label does not decide whether dispersion arose internally or through external interruption.
