Obscuring
Definition
Obscuring carries Mental from Lucid toward Hazed when represented content loses intelligibility and discriminability, becoming confused, inaccessible, incoherent, or difficult to distinguish. Thought remains the relevant territory, but its represented form can no longer be made out as a lucid field. Obscuring is not falsehood, honest uncertainty, complexity, ignorance, disagreement, or loss of attention by itself. Truth remains independent; failure to register at a threshold belongs to Open, and an unstable foreground belongs to Focus, unless representational intelligibility itself has become Hazed.
