Saturating
Definition
Saturating carries Emotional from Felt toward Overwhelmed when affect that is already present ceases to coexist with other experience or action and involuntarily fills the field. Differentiation, context-responsiveness, or response freedom becomes unavailable as affective participation takes over. Saturating names structural field takeover rather than emotional quantity. Powerful grief, fear, joy, or anger can remain Centered while differentiated and governable; quiet reactivity or repetitive affective compulsion can instantiate the departure. Threshold admission belongs to Open, and bodily or material takeover belongs to Physical. Loss of control in an enactment belongs separately to Move; Saturating concerns affect’s takeover of the experiential field, whether or not an action follows.
